(E015) University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust Post-Chemotherapy Temperature Monitoring

The University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM) implemented Flo to support their oncology post-chemotherapy in conjunction with their Emergency Assessment Bay pathway.

Flo was integrated into the existing pathway as a support in reminding the patient to comply with post discharge advice from the oncology team within secondary care in taking their core body temperature thus facilitating the early identification of potential infection caused by a lowered immune system following chemotherapy. The application also informs the patient if their core body temperature is higher or lower than the normal range and subsequently to contact the Emergency Assessment Bay at UHNM for treatment and/or advice.
